Our Problem
The problem that our group is trying to solve is that portion sizes, specifically in our communities households are too big. Many people feel the need to finish all their food so they overeat. Overeating can lead to diabetes, eating disorders, and obesity. Portion sizes help people get the right amount of different types of food without over or under eating.

Over ⅔ of Americans are overweight. Overeating caused by big portion sizes could be a huge factor why. A new study by the Journal of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics shows that in 132 restaurants in 3 different American cities have portions exceeding the right amount of calories you should have in a meal or even a day. William Masters, who has a Ph.D in food economics says that standard meal sizes are made for the hungriest customers.
